Dropped laptop, slow boot and sleep mode issues

I have a Lenovo U460. specs Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 380 @ 2.53GHz (dual core), 64 bit, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 451 GB HD, 1696 MB Intel HD Graphics

I dropped my laptop pretty hard on asphalt a while back. Amazingly it still runs and my data is all there, though I've backed it up since then. There are some issues though:

-The screen will flicker very fast and show something almost like the white noise on tv's that have no signal if it is positioned at certain angles. I'm assuming some connection between the motherboard and screen as damaged and only works at certain positions now. -Laptop is also incredibly slow to boot up at times -Sometimes it doesn't sleep properly. I'll put the lid down and the screen will go blank, but laptop doesn't actually go into sleep mode. Will then have to force it to shutdown and restart. -Battery life went down significantly after the fall

I'm wondering what the causes of these problems are specifically, and if there's anything I can do to fix it or anything I should be on the lookout for in the future?
